Dragonette: New Album and U.S. Tour!

DiscoWorkout.com faves Dragonette are finally hitting the U.S. in support of their new album Fixin to Thrill this week…indeed, they’re probably going onstage in Portland RIGHT NOW AS I BLOG! Here’s the Richard X remix and video for their second single “Pick Up The Phone”:

Second single? Yes. In case you missed it, I posted the title track about 18 seconds after it came into my life back in May, because I knew I loved it even before we hit the first chorus. Here it is again in case you missed it, YOU FOOL, YOU!

I tried to see Dragonette at SXSW last year and walked 20 blocks out of the way to see them at this random venue on the outskirts of town, only to find that the show had been cancelled. So I’m as excited as a lollipop lickin’ schoolgirl with freckles and braids to catch their candy-flavored discopop this Friday at the Echo in LA.

I really truly don’t understand why these guys aren’t selling out stadiums yet. But by this time next year they might just be the new ABBA, so catch them in these intimate venues while you can.
