Air transcends beauty
“Fat Girl (2001)”, a heart breaking french film about the abusive, yet codependent relationship between two sisters.
Unrelated to the picture above, the director Mike Mills, who did Thumbsucker (very good if you haven’t seen it!), directed the video for Air’s “Le Soleil Est Pres De Moi.” I am head over heels for this song. I forgot about its existence until I found it as a related video to Stardust’s “Music Sounds Better With You.” It has such delicate progression and is interlaced with sixties french pop symphonies. All in slow motion as if you were staring at a giant oak tree on shrooms. The video quietly depicts the fast paced loneliness of a city and shows an intimate side of Air.
I’ve uploaded a few tracks from “Premiers Symptomes.” My favorite release by them. It’s more slow-paced than the electro I usually post, but it’s vibrant and full. I love Air.
