Happy mother’s day! As you probably know, DiscoWorkout.com has been awarded Soccer Mom Digest’s “Best Blog for Carpool Music” for 9 straight years. So as a tribute to all the hot women of a certain age who “take one for the team” on a weekly (or annual, as the case may be) basis, here are some songs about your mom.
And because she has such diverse tastes, the tracks span a wide range of genres, from Eurodisco to punk in that order: Milli Vanilli creator Frank Farian’s first foray into the charts; two funk/pop one hit wonders; sleazy funk rock raunch classic from ex-Mrs. Miles Davis; sugarcoated electro rock from an under-rated duo from Brooklyn (who are our homeys, BTW…hi Vivian!); and we end with angry midget horror punk from Jersey.
MP3: “Momma Used to Say” - Junior
MP3: “She’s A Bad Mama Jama” - Carl Carlton
MP3: “Your Mama Wants You Back” - Betty Davis
MP3: “Confection (Extended Mix)” - Mommy and Daddy
MP3: “Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight (Live)” - The Misfits
Our web server is being a jerk today so all the links are Yousendit. That means they all expire in a week and there are no previews (sorry but I hate all the ads on the other file sharing services). But if you love your mom you’ll do what she says and download them all. And don’t forget to eat every carrot and pea on your plate.
xx,
