Disco Sunday #36: Keenhouse
Keenhouse is the nom-de-electro of LA based musician Ken Rangkuty. Ken dropped his lastest remix for Zurich, Switzerland’s Division Kent in our mailbox the other day and it arrived in my ears in one of those great iTunes shuffle moments where you go “wait, this is awesome – what the hell is it?” It’s got a Big 80’s sound with big bright dry synths reminiscent of The Twelves, plus some funky basslines and delicious female vocals – in French. In other words: Checkmate!
MP3: “L’Heure Blue (Keenhouse Remix)” – Division Kent
Bonus breaking blog news: Keenhouse has just finished and sent us a new remix, fresh out of the oven, for London electro band Muddyloop:
MP3: “80’s Love (Keenhouse Remix)” – Muddyloop
Our friends at Discodust have two more original tracks from Keenhouse, one of which (“Deep in the Forest”) you may have heard on a recent Valerie posted mix by the fantastique Minitel Rose. Go get them to complete your Keenhouse Kollektion.
Speaking of Los Angeles, next Saturday I’m driving down there to spend the summer working on my next record and a bunch of cool co-writes, remixes and mo’. Hit me up if you’re an Angelino and hip me to the jive scene that I won’t hear about on Myspace bulletins and Iheartcomix e-blasts.
xx,
