Pulstar

I’m italo-discoing it UP! right now. Pardon me. The track “Pulstar” by Vangelis, the same composer who did “chariots of fire”, was featured on the Bladerunner soundtrack in 1982. Sah-weet…. the Vangelis track is epically classical-like. It’s slightly like Tomita’s Planets, but maintains a more eerie momentum. Vangelis’s version of “Pulstar” is like a twinkling space craft. On the other hand Hypnosis’s “Pulstar” is a two-stepping dark dub classic right out of 1983. I love the Hypnosis version, it embodies electro-italo club bleakness. I posted both though, so you decide which you like better.

Chariots of fire was not for blade runner it does not feature in the soundtrack, it was actually composed for the film “chariots of fire” which was about the english 4 minute mile runner roger banister. still, it’s a great track, don’t have it myself but wold love someone to post it up.
cheers for the music

Sorry to be Mr Web Pedant but Pulstar first appeared in the mid 70’s on an album called ‘Albedo 0.39′ not 1983 - it’s one of his early pieces.
Tis brilliant though, esp. for the time.

aw thanks, i worded that.. so badly haha I meant that it was featured on the 1982 bladerunner soundtrack (the vangelis version) and then the hypnosis version was put out on vinyl in 1983.

In 83 when I was a kid someone gave me this track on a tape (the hypnosis version). I loved the tune, I played it for years. It inspired me in fact to make electronic music myself. Now 25 years later in life, what a blast to finally find out what the name of it is and who made it. Who would have thought it was a cover of Vangelis, lol. Thanks for the MP3 !! However I was listening to the long version back then, I also found it on youtube. Anyone has that one on MP3?
