Kill the Noise + Chromeo

Back in May I was swamped in academics and busy being a studious book nerd, but Kill the Noise was so nice as to give us a little interview. I’ve been a huge fan since his heart-blasting remix of Chromeo’s “Don’t Call Me Up” entered my life. He’s a dance-party rager and wonder. He recently finished roaming the countryside on the “School’s Out Forever Tour” with Treasure Fingers (another major banger-father). Be sure to check out his Beatport Top ten! It’s choice.

What made you choose “Kill the Noise” as your moniker?

It came to me in a dream. Seriously.

How nervous do you get before playing a set? Multiple drinks nervous or just heart racing nervous?

Nervous? No. Anxious? Yes.

What program or equipment do you generally use when you play live sets?

For now I perform live with Serato Scratch Live, However, I plan on doing a live show with knobs and keyboards and stuff like that in the future.

At what age did you realize you couldn’t live without music?

As long as I can remember.

What song or album is currently on repeat?

The new Portishead album, it’s amazing.

What’s the biggest sacrifice you’ve had to make since focusing on making music and djing?

Spending time with my family & friends, but luckily they are very understanding.
