Young Monday Exclusive
Listening to Young Monday makes me feel haunted by my bright-eyed days of childhood play on industrial playgrounds, bursts of endless energy and warmth. The way his synth riffs transition back and forth is like walking up a spiral staircase in space. The escalating melodies that lead into the radiating laser beats of “Zaire” are uncontrollably danceable. Young Monday seems to pull from the emotional depth of older soundtrack synth while combining a fresh twist on the Valerie-influenced futuristic synth. It’s a type of electronic production that is a rarity.
When I found Young Monday on myspace it went instantly into heavy rotation on my ipod. He’s not on any label, and I think he totally deserves some hype. So, when he sent over “Zaire” and “PRLS” I was stoked, viva la Young Monday.
