It’s nearly october, but don’t kill yourself yet.

I have found so much new/good music in the last couple of weeks that I want to overwhelm you with all of its delicious craftsmanship. I am overwhelmed myself, because I am sick. It’s like running an olympic marathon to get out this post right now. But, I, can, make, it….

First up is Kuriaki. Kuriaki’s first EP “Express” will be released on Imperial Records on October 22nd. The track “Travoltism” off of his demo perhaps has something to do with John Travolta’s divinely blessed ass shaking. “Travoltism” is a little bit of breakbeat with the loving caress of disco.

Sliced, diced and tossed into the river by a masked ghoul in 1982. That’s what Note Found sounds like. A blood covered nightmare complete with Carpenter-esque spine chilling synth. This influence is beginning to run rampant and I have zero objections. It’s some of my favorite type of synth.

Ah, the almighty makes-my-car shake dance jam of the week… Junior Bondage’s “Silver Cage.” It’s funky like a 1980’s carwash in queens, but has that special added touch of electro. I’m loving it, my friends are loving it, I think you’ll love it…

Last Thursday I saw the Tenderlions play live at “Work,” a night in the city that was one of the most fun things I’ve gone out to in some time.. but let me tell you, the Tenderlions were a messy blast of sonic bliss. I was already blaring “In Addition” at every stop light, corner and bedroom of my city, but hearing it live basically blew my brain into little chunks. I love this song so much, really, I do. Last week my brother and I blared it on his subwoofer bedroom speakers then danced around like mascots (yeah, like.. bad cheerleaders)..
