I watched Logan’s Run last night, well half watched it, and let me just say that it’s slightly dull for everything it’s built up to be. The orgy scene is absurd… I don’t think you should even be allowed to call it an orgy scene unless there’s some serious titillation about to happen. Just seeing tits and ass does not make it an orgy scene…that’s all I’m saying.
Anyway, in the vein of my current Us Two style disco house obsession I stumbled upon Mukey. He’s fairly new on the music producing scene, but his deep house sensibilities and affection for strings won me over quickly. His music has a breath of youthful excitement to it, like a fourth of july sparkler. I’m a straight sucker for strings, seriously, melts me down.

Then there’s Hemingway’s grimy and industrial disco jam “Machine.” A whirring keyboard reminiscent of a power drill flows through the track while a pulsing bass creates a dark backdrop. The bleak atmosphere hearkens back to the likes of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher.
