Slowing down…

As your night winds down and you’ve knocked over one too many beer bottles the perfect track to sulk on the couch to has to be Savage’s “Don’t Cry Tonight.” Every bit the awkward euro-charmer Roberto Zanetti made this foreboding italo classic in 1983. This track is much slower than the usual fare we post on here, but I like it’s gloomy italo sparkle. It’s the perfect kitsch you come to expect from morose disco ballads. The intro with its gargoyle-operatic synth voices kind of blows me away. Sadly countless people have tried to remix this track and it generally ends up sounding like a warbled generic trance mix. Avoid the remixes… but enjoy the original.
