WORSHIP remixes

night porter, 1974

WORSHIP has really been gifted with so many good remixes as of late. His original music is dreary yet apocalyptic, so the more high-energy french touch remixes have given the tracks an added fluorescent flavor. The influence of Lifelike is pretty heavy throughout both of the following tracks and I’m totally loving that. Lifelike seriously lights up even the boring suburban streets I have to drive on my way to work. His tracks make everything feel like they pulsate with radiant happiness. I get a little bit like a googly-eyed WHAM fan when I think of french touch.

Freak You has done it again with another remix inspired by the fanatic thrill of a giant rave. He has twisted WORSHIP’s neo-classic “Underwater” into a hard-driving yet haunting jam. The way the ghost-like synth in the background echoes throughout the track makes you feel like you’re being transported through the eleventh dimension of space. Look for the WORSHIP EP being released sometime in February!

Whenever I play this track I try to replicate 70’s disco moves like these ones, but I am totally uncoordinated. Nonetheless the feeling is there and this remix makes me want to bounce up and down on my couch. I am so excited about all of the eighties soundtrack/late seventies disco meshing that is manifesting in tracks lately. Bestrack, from France, keeps it fun and playful with this remix of WORSHIP’s “Ritual Action.”

Ah and yes, one of my very favorite tracks, “Adventure” by Lifelike. Yes, it’s been posted for hells-of-days/itshellsofold and all that, but I don’t care. I am re-in-love with it lately and I figured I’d share. Lifelike manages to add such dark yet romantic depth to his futuristic synthy tracks. “Adventure” plays out like a soundtrack to a 2099 robotic Romeo and Juliet.

The heavily sampled original is “Living a Boy’s Adventure Tale’ from A-Ha’a 1985 debut album, ‘Hunting High and Low’.

Amazing rework of one of A-Ha’a stranger, more haunting tracks.

  • the freak’s remix kicks my … and his space like “space” ha ha
    awesome !

  • oh in adventure he samples a-ha’s ‘living a boy’s adventure tale’??

    That’s so cool.

  • Damnn.. stellllllllar stuff. Instant downloads, every one. Bestrack’s is amazing, as per usual. I love how he intermingles those classic disco samples into the mix. And the Freak’s just takes the glorious original to incredible clubbed up heights.. or depths (it is underwater after all). And Lifelike still remains the champ.

  • i love you hemingway. kthnx. best comments ever.

  • O_O nothing else to say about Lifelike. I’m not a fan of this style but some very efficient toons like these may convert me… I didn’t know this Worship not even the Freak but I love the deepness of Underwater anyway (not so much the other but good too).
