FRENCH KISS IN SF SUNDAY!!
Last weekend I went to French Kiss at the Pink in San Francisco. Forever 21 and DJ MyKill tore it UP! I had an absolutely amazing time and danced my ass off to some epic “futuristic retro.” MyKill started French Kiss in Phoenix, but recently he moved to San Francisco and took the night with him. The club itself is more than easy on the eyes and the visuals provided by Donovan created a riveting yet comfortable atmosphere.
In conjunction with DJ MyKill I am posting the “French Kiss Top Five”!! I think he has fantastic taste and he was nice enough to select five engrossing tracks that will leave you emotionally shattered. By the way, I am completely addicted to the Star Guitar cover. I loved that song when it came out, but the cover is… so absorbing. I really love it.
Commentary below music is by DJ MyKill!
#1
MP3: Cut Copy – Kidz at the Disco
This is an older Cut Copy song that was found on the B-Side of the Future single release.
“Kidz at the Disco act so cool, it’s just an attitude” truer words never spoken.
#2
MP3: Minitel Rose – West Coast Valerie Theme
It starts out really lush and even has a saxophone (don’t run yet, it gets really good) all the sudden the gears are
switched up and you find yourself on this wild, hard, and melodic ride.
#3
MP3: The Quietboy – Photowelle
Like his name this track is much more subdued and I’m not really sure if anyone would dance to it or not.
Not all good music is made for the dance floor though. I like rocking this one in the headphones though on a cold rainy day.
#4
MP3: Shinichi Osawa – Star Guitar
A Chemical Brothers cover with a little more bottom end and acid squelches added by the awesome Shinichi Osawa.
Check out his new album “The One” which was recently released in Japan.
#5
MP3: Ali Love – Late Night Session (Phones Filter Fromage Dub)
The great Paul Epworth returns with one of his funkiest remixes to date. It has that big room house sound but the pay off
is in the cut up break down. More lush uplifting stuff to get you up and dancing around in your bedroom again.

Paul Epworth never fails……
