Freak You remixes

woman under the influence, 1974
Freak You has done it again with two remixes that capture the ambient-industrial loneliness of our modern cities. His remixes capture the odd eccentricity of early eighties gothic like Siouxsie or the piercing heartbreak of Tricky. Despite the dark depth of his tracks he interjects a small glimmer of light as his synths echo a fluorescent glow. The lonely presence of his remixes is a nice contrast to my obsession with the bubbly energy of house. The two artists that have been remixed by Freak You are Lovelorn Graduate and we are ENFANT TERRIBLE who are both artists to look out for in 2009.
Freak You is on the lovely label “On The Fruit” which houses artists such as WORSHIP, NOTe FOUND, oldschoolreunion and Junior Bondage. It’s an eclectic mix of electronic music that is definitely worth checking out.
