CRJ: Epic Fantasia

from crj’s myspace
Somewhere in the middle of “NeverEnding Story” and Stanley Kubrick lies CRJ’s ominous electronica. His cover of Giorgio Moroder’s Ivory Tower turns the classic into an apocalyptic doomsday anthem worthy of earth’s final day. CRJ grasps a conceptual depth in his tracks that creates a rare fifth dimension of visualization. His track “Loverider” echoes a somber yet triumphant energy. It’s complimented well by Thomas Dorian’s vibrant vocals that blast over the track’s haunting synthesizers.
CRJ currently resides in Paris and told me he is greatly inspired by future landscapes, sci fi, mystery, space-pop, electronic ballads and Jean-Michel Jarre pre-2000. I’m pretty sure his music has embodied beautifully all of these inspirations. He is certainly one of my favorite artists of this year thus far.

MP3: CRJ – Ivory Tower

this is a great cover, and TNS is one of the best soundtracks ever. I have also been adapting some musical elements from it, and it is very precious source material, so im glad to see it done right.
