Stalking Johnny Jewel, Chapter LVIII: Le Desire à Montreal

Have you heard the news? It’s true. Johnny Jewel moved even further north to Montreal and, even further back in time to 1976. He’s also started a new band called Desire with a singer named Megan Louise he discovered there while on tour in November. “She was the voice I had been looking for,” he explains. “I had been working on Desire material for two years, just waiting to find the right singer for the project.” Jewel packed up shop and moved to Montreal the very next day.

Our (wo)man in Portland, the lovely DJ Patricia Furpurse, has the original scoop at her fantastic blog Gudren Wolf. Here’s a taste of Desire, this song sounds like Dan Hartman and Cutting Crew having a pillow fight with Kate Bush while sleeping over at Ida No’s cousin’s house.
