Vice Versa: Sheffield Synthpunk 1979
I’m seriously dorking out today on some late 70s early 80s synth punk that I burned to CD from the original 7″s years ago from my first love’s record collection. I think my next several posts will be putting this stuff up for you because it’s so good!
Vice Versa were an synth punk/ minimal synth band from Sheffield that formed in 1978. These 4 songs were on their first 7″ release titled “Music 4″. I love the sound of all the analog gear and the monotone vocals.

I’m ashamed to never have heard of Vice Versa. Especially because I did a little research and learned that soon after these songs were cut their synth player switched to vocals and the band changed their name to…ABC!!!
